ABOUT DESKTOP

Desktop Art Group was founded in 2014, with its studio established in Beijing. The founding members—Zheyi Zhang, Jianshu Song, Chengpu Wang, Chuan Ji, and Yujie Zhu—each graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, specializing in sculpture, printmaking, and public art. Since 2022, the group has shifted its focus to New York, with two members relocating there. That same year, Lihua Chen, who had previously collaborated with the group in 2016, officially joined the New York team. In 2024, Jiajia Dou, a graduate of Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture, joined as an artist assistant. Today, the group is primarily based in New York.
